"In the back, soldiers sat on benches, facing one another, rifles laid casually across their laps. They looked young and clean shaven and eager in brand-new helmets, with medals glinting on their gray-green uniforms. Young most of all. Not monsters; just boys, really."

2 chapters in and I'm reminded why this was my favorite book in the series on my first read. So much Harry and Dumbledore time!!

since I was about 8 years old I've looked up to Cher as a musician and for her fashion sense and her unapologetic attitude - I am absolutely loving this memoir. written in such a distinct Cher voice, (if you followed her on Twitter, you know!) I'm finding myself in awh at her childhood experience so far.

so far I'm enjoying listening to this - it adds such a special touch for me when the author narrates it. I've just began the chapter about the Chelsea Hotel and I'm loving learning about it.
