I’ve been such a lazy cockhead about reading. Hopefully this ARC can do it for me. I’m getting Piranesi vibes, and based off some of the language being almost 1:1 with my favorite lines of prose from that book, I feel like it’s intentional

I dunno man. Claudia is quite literally physically incapable of missing. I feel like I see where this is going, but the way she’s taking me there is just so enthralling

This feels like such a departure in a lot of ways for Emma Cline. It’s fragmented, very loose. But that same hypnotic, morally grey air she created w/ her writing is what always keeps me coming back.

Each paragraph, or sentence, feels so fraught and mundane, but this I have a feeling this book will reward close reading—important points seem to just be unceremoniously dropped in.

I keep getting distracted from Yesteryear which is not an indictment of that book, but I can’t simply sit with a new Emma Cline ARC unread… it’s not possible

I love books where 2 characters are actively manipulating and using one another, always thinking they have the upper hand. It’s so juicy
