This feels like such a departure in a lot of ways for Emma Cline. It’s fragmented, very loose. But that same hypnotic, morally grey air she created w/ her writing is what always keeps me coming back.

Each paragraph, or sentence, feels so fraught and mundane, but this I have a feeling this book will reward close reading—important points seem to just be unceremoniously dropped in.

I keep getting distracted from Yesteryear which is not an indictment of that book, but I can’t simply sit with a new Emma Cline ARC unread… it’s not possible
