I should’ve listened to my instincts and left this as a DNF. The only interest I have are in the semi-biographical history of DR, but my god does Diaz love to drop the n word and write about women in the most perverse way. I don’t really care if it’s to make the narrator’s caricature of a personality “realistic”. I’m getting so sick of idioms for large breasts.

Thank goodness for Open Library having this on hand. After traveling through Mexico the past week, I need any distraction I can use as a shield against these bitter 12° January days.
