This was a challenging, though interesting work. Interesting, in that it allows one to view the world through the eyes of a “Spirituaist” during the early 1900’s. Challenging, in that Twining, though clearly intelligent, has unswerving faith is several long discredited scientific theories, from cosmic ether, to “Levulons.” In addition, he doesn’t seem to understand what he believes about God.

I had to put this down because, if I heard the author talk about Indra and Agni and their love of soma juice again, I was going to scream. It is interesting reading, but I am finding that the Vedic faith of the Rig has less in common with the modern Hindu one than it does with the ancient Egyptian one it likely was the degenerated offshoot of. The Upanishads have far, far more depth and significance to them.
