Nearly a hundred pages in...

Disappointed that there's profanity (only one term used a couple of times early on), and the formatting is a little odd.

But the story itself is quite good and entertaining thus far. Eager to see how the rest of the story unfolds.

DNFing. Not a fan of the sexting subject matter, though I'm glad the author tackled the subject. It's one that needs more awareness to help folks stay away from the trap of it.

That chapter-ending chat board sesh was deliciously tense! I'm loving this aspect of the story.

Ooh, that reporter! I'm curious about what's driving him. Clearly something is.

But I loved the claustrophobic forced proximity during a weather event. So good!

Plus, learning more about the "appearance of impropriety" rule for judges is so fascinating. Thanks for teaching me as I read, Jayna!

More telling and history dump than I remember in the first book, but I'm still intrigued at the moment. Hoping the pace picks up!

Some of these entries speak to me. God's timing is great for when I've gotten to the various entries.

Been jumping around a bit. Really enjoyed my journey from James through 1 & 2 Peter and 1, 2, & 3 John. Circling back to the beginning now.

Awww! Within the context of this scene, I find this line utterly romantic.

The last 38 percent was pretty amazing. Didn’t really make up for the first 62 percent, but it gave me hope for future books by this author. Love the very happy note the story ended on!

Wow! The last 32% has been the best of this book so far. Lots of plot twists I didn’t see coming. Not fully realistic, but it still brought tears to my eyes at one point. Definitely potential here!

What is with these sound effects? The dog is kicked “Thud.” The girl is hit. “Pop.”

Feels like we just slipped into an old comic book.

How does she gasp and keep her mouth closed at the same time?

So she’s dangling by one hand but somehow in a crouch. Then she stands… on what, water? This just got super unrealistic.

Skimming has helped the present-tense presentation not be so bothersome. It's also helped me skip some of the minutia of the anatomy of a ship.

I get it. You did research. That's fantastic.

Now, let's work on giving just enough information for atmosphere but not so much that I feel like I'm in class being lectured on the subject.

I am loving the dog.

Things just got exciting. Not sure how much longer I'll read (the present-tense presentation is hard to read), but the girl just lost a lot. I'm curious enough to at least skim a bit to see what happens next.
