Been jumping around a bit. Really enjoyed my journey from James through 1 & 2 Peter and 1, 2, & 3 John. Circling back to the beginning now.

"You always have to take care of your words, Sam."

Awww! Within the context of this scene, I find this line utterly romantic.

Totally loving this story. Who knew Oleo Wars were a thing? #learning

The last 38 percent was pretty amazing. Didn’t really make up for the first 62 percent, but it gave me hope for future books by this author. Love the very happy note the story ended on!

Wow! The last 32% has been the best of this book so far. Lots of plot twists I didn’t see coming. Not fully realistic, but it still brought tears to my eyes at one point. Definitely potential here!

What is with these sound effects? The dog is kicked “Thud.” The girl is hit. “Pop.”

Feels like we just slipped into an old comic book.

How does she gasp and keep her mouth closed at the same time?

So she’s dangling by one hand but somehow in a crouch. Then she stands… on what, water? This just got super unrealistic.

Skimming has helped the present-tense presentation not be so bothersome. It's also helped me skip some of the minutia of the anatomy of a ship.

I get it. You did research. That's fantastic.

Now, let's work on giving just enough information for atmosphere but not so much that I feel like I'm in class being lectured on the subject.

I am loving the dog.

Things just got exciting. Not sure how much longer I'll read (the present-tense presentation is hard to read), but the girl just lost a lot. I'm curious enough to at least skim a bit to see what happens next.

This book just keeps getting better!

Goodness, this book was wonderful! It totally earned back that fifth star. Still don’t like that wardrobe malfunction, but in all other respects, Mrs. Cushman completely dazzled me again.

“Don’t let an old crank keep you from doing nice things. People who do nice things are getting fewer and farther between.”

This guy might be a keeper. I love a good encourager!

Fashion design, old Hollywood drama, and a mystery to solve? That earlier faux pas is virtually a distant memory.

Well, I wasn’t expecting a teen to flash her underwear at an entire audience on live TV. I’m sure there’s more to the story than what’s being said right now.

I’m disappointed in this crude moment. It isn’t at all what I’m used to by this author.

That opening scene was so good! I’m hooked, but I have to work now. When’s lunch??

False! When God forgives our sin, He immediately casts it as far from us as the east is from the west. He wipes the slate clean in that moment--no need to wait.
