This book is so good

I love the glimpses of how Steinbeck views towns and overall communities of people. He paints a better picture in my mind of what an ideal community looks like and prompts me to spot out areas where I can play a part that ‘ideal’ community.
-When Kino imagines all the pearl can do for he and his family, I hope I’m never one to pressure another to ‘cut their light away’ in their dreams like he was pressured.

Second time reading this for a class with Dr. Carpenter. How lucky am I???

Mark (the GOAT) my preacher this summer gave this to me to read so I’m giving it a go. Interested to see how Comer finishes out the current section, nothing but raising concerns this far into it!

(Maybe a spoiler watch out) Chapter 24: my favorite yet. I loved reading about how different characters dealt with death, Lee talking about his Hebrew studies, Adam being a fool.. again., and finally Samuel and Lee’s relationship and Samuel talking about “exercising the choice”. Each chapter I finish I eagerly wait for the next!
