In this book so far I feel genuine concern, confusion for Ralph & Abby. "Is there an entity ? Did Laura stay between worlds to torture the one who 'took her boy' from her ? Why is Abby so obsessed with pregnancy?" But then, as I read the excerpts of Abby's childhood I begin to realize what's really happening. I feel like Abby is punishing herself while also obsessing over the one thing she craves the most.. a mother.

So far, a death.. haha. But slowly being introduced to our main characters, Abby & Ralph ! I'm dying to see why Abby holds such a distaste for Laura, her mother in law who committed suicide in the basement of the shared home. And how Laura haunts the couple while they try to move on like she never existed.

So far, just meeting the characters & seeing what kind of direction this is going, love it. It's finally not some "historically forbidden & closeted" lesbian trope. And the 2 women are strong characters in & of themselves. Dijah's strong, almost stubborn, will and boundaries are admirable. And Shae's soft sense of balance in her lives is something people strive for. I'm so excited to see how this goes !
