was recommended this book by a lady on the train, her other recs were solid! but this one i fear…not for me

tbh i did NOT like this characters inner world…its depressing she has a lot of things to worry about and it feels like she’s stuck. i get it becomes a rom com but just was not feeling it💔💔

ugh. bb an amazing femme lawyer and currently the bartender is insecure💔💔 totally get being upset in this situation that’s occurring but they’re like 40…. emotional intelligence is in fact stunted smh (not bb tho love her)

i love this book series-it follows found family dealing with a government who treats magical beings as second class citizens. applicable to our current political climate

the fmc seems very bitter and jealous :/ but i really like her “friend.” she’s super sweet and kind so far…. rf kuang never misses tho so can’t wait to continue listening :)

i’m hate listening to this at this point. i finished the other half and literally can’t leave this half read…but it’s like so bad that it’s kind of bearable

a theme i’ve noticed in the books i’ve been reading is the impact of archival practices on society’s understanding of history. i love the trope of changing history to favor the victor because it’s similar to how we understand history today. and this book was no different!

guys. this is basically lesbian smut w political dynasties and so much yearning. less emphasis on political dynasties and HEAVY on the yearning smut. listening to this in the office was crazy.

lesbians! politics! AHHHHH. love.
