Ddore is incredibly out of touch for thinking that private lessons between Harry and Snape could be successful. Snape is a horrible teacher at the best of times - how is he even teaching Harry anything?? He’s just repeatedly using legilimens on him??

Ddore not looking at Harry when Harry tells him about Arthur being attacked is shameful. If he’s paranoid about Voldy spying on him through Harry, why doesn’t HE use occlumency hmmm??

I hope Herm has some good off-page gal pals. Harry and Ron are decent friends but definitely have some limitations lol. The “emotional range of a teaspoon” line is iconic.

Obviously hermione’s jinx on the DA sign up sheet was genius, but it would have been smarter to not force everyone who showed up to the first meeting to sign it. Only people super committed to its purpose and secrecy should have signed it, and everyone else should’ve been sent on their merry way. No need to have forced Marietta and Zacharias - they ruined the vibe (and ofc Mar went and snitched).

Harry is pissed off most of this book but you know what I think it’s totally reasonable. Aside from him being a hormonal teenager, he just witnessed VOLDEMORT’S RESURRECTION and CEDRIC’S MURDER. And DDore has completely abandoned him! Wtaf. On top of that Sirius is so fucking self centered in his moping around that he also is completely emotionally unavailable to poor Harry.

Praised be for Molly Weasley and Hagrid. The only adults in this series that seem to realize how starved Harry is for care and comfort.

Corn Fudge is obviously a despicable, incompetent power grabber, but everyone’s anger at him overshadows that some responsibility for Cedric’s death and Voldy’s resurrection would rightfully be placed at DDore’s feet. The triwizard tourney is supposed to be a fun school competition- at the first sight of something suspiciously dark, esp considering Voldy’s recent activities, Ddore should have cancelled it!

When Moody randomly shows up in the forest during the search for Crouch, why didn’t Harry tell Moody to bring out the Marauder’s Map to find Crouch?

This book strikes a fun balance between spooky scary dark wizard happenings and silly hormonal teenage drama. Best demonstrated in the surprisingly normal teenage moment when Krum takes Harry aside to ask about his relationship with Hermione, followed by them coming upon a creepy Barty Crouch. Maybe the best balance in the series.

Considering that Sirius now has to subsist on rats to avoid being seen, how was he able to buy Harry his Firebolt last year?

If DDore is really as “brilliant” as everyone says he is, why doesn’t he recognize when Voldy is behind strange events? Eg when Harry’s name comes out of the goblet, Mad-eye taking Harry away from everyone when he comes back from the graveyard, not to mention the chamber of secrets being opened, unicorns being murdered…

Sirius didn’t know that Karkaroff was showing Snape his dark mark tattoo when he showed Snape his forearm during potions? Was it not well known that that’s how Voldy called upon his followers?

How is Hogwarts a financially viable institution? I don’t think the students pay tuition, and the food alone must cost TONS daily!

Arthur Weasley is kind of hot?
Here me out:
- has a cool head in a crisis (kept Amos diggory from spinning out at the World Cup)
- got into fist fight with mega asshole Lucius
- wants to keep Harry in the know when shit is going down
- has a fun sense of humor with his kids
- married the firecracker that is Molly
- fights against muggle discrimination/abuse

Why DO Harry and Ron continue to take divination anyway?
