My gosh, I have to be up for work in 4 hours, I'm on chapter three, and I'm crying. The way I'm so attached to this from the get go. That is a gift!

Most of the book is moving through dialogue which is not my preferred style. I think the narrative could be slowed down because there are a number of transitions that leave me confused. I like the large cast, but because it moves so quick, I don't feel like I know any of them. I like that I knew one the characters was a liar. I'm really enjoying the story, but I would like it better with more exposition.

I half want to DNF this book and half want to continue to see where it goes. However, I'm just not feeling it as well for reasoms previously mentioned. I've DNF'd so many books recently... Why am I vibing with nothing?

Feeling quite mixed. The worldbuilding leaves a lot to be desired. I have to suspend reality A LOT on my end without having a foundation to do so. The author also has that nasty habit from fanfiction writing where they refuse to refer to a character by name. "the woman", "the man". They have names, use them. I'm getting really confused about who is in the room. I'm still on the fence about the romance.

I have to keep rereading scenes because the pacing is too quick to follow what is going on, and some aren't explained in a way that I understand what happened.

The percents are just my best guesses, honestly. At any rate, I now understand why some reviewers said it was hard to follow the timeline of the memoir. He mentioned season 9 of Friends for a side comment, which I enjoyed the asides up until this point, but now I keep thinking we're in a different time in his life than what he's talking about. It is getting more confusing the longer I listen, but I still like it.

I'm taking an educated guess on my progress since I'm listening via audiobook. I love that Matthew narrated it himself. I saw this book is supposed to have a forward by Lisa, but I never got that in the audio version. Or I missed it...

Overall, it's such a fascinating story of Matthew's life. His humor comes in at the right moments to help you stomach the horrors he went through prior to his untimely death.

I'm a little confused to be honest. Not about the world, but about a plot point. Scythe Curie specifically told Citra that Scythe Faraday gleaned himself to free them from the contract that said one of them would glean the other at the end of their apprenticeship. However, the story keeps progressing and saying they still have to glean the loser. Which one is correct?

If I put it down, I keep thinking about it until I pick it up again.

Haven't read this one in a while.

I'm listening to the audiobook, so I'm actually not sure how far I am. I took the chapter I'm currently on and divided it by how many chapters there are.
