I was asked to read this for work but I already know a lot about Edward Curtis. The book portrays him kind of like some kind of a hero which I feel like is an insult to his ex wife and brother and who knows who else he burned in his pursuits. He himself looked back on his life in regret. He did have a main character mustache though.

I was expecting this to be a harder read because people described it as dense and overly academic. That’s kind of the point, right? I’m hooked I read more than half in one day when this sat on my shelf for months intimidating me.

I feel like I am being consumed by this book. Idk what time it is or where I am. Jeff Vandermeer has given me some trust issues about whether or not I will leave with answers or more questions but I cherish them.
