I love a bit of yearning, especially when it's mostly led by the man in the story. This has been quite fun and light so far.

Why do authors always insist on two characters, who got together in the last book, keeping literally everything that bothers them from the other? It's infuriating.

I'm only a few pages in and pissing myself. This woman has called her woodchipper - which she uses to kill men (iconic) - Cookie Monster, and I love it.

Merlin also sounds like a dubious mentor, fake Guinevere deserves better instructions. Her mysterious background is keeping me very intrigued.

I'm actually rather enjoying this one. It's giving Atlantis: The Lost Empire vibes quite early on, just with female Milo, and then a cocky pilot love interest. I'm just hoping for some more magic coming in sooner rather than later! Hallie is gonna be magic, calling it now.

I absolutely hate the husbands in this book, they are actually the bloody worst. Carter is such a manipulative asshole and I'm so mad that he's made their kids think Patricia is crazy for being worried about a stranger killing children.

What on earth happens in the last 200 odd pages that's left in this book? What on earth have they got left to do?!

Fuck Jack, bloody hate this man. He makes me want to throw the book at the wall. And also fuck Debby for submitting to such a toxic man time and time again and constantly making excuses for him. He's threatening to take her kids away because she hangs with her cousin! Kari isn't perfect, and her cousin makes some valid points about her, but Kari wants the best for her. Jack just wants a maid/mum.

Jack is a fucking asshole - Debby needs to bin him or give him an ultimatum because his behaviour is shocking

I'm annoyed with this book, but also intrigued. Annoyed by the characters (the main character Kari is okay, but her cousin is so frustrating, and don't get me started on her controlling dickhead husband), but the mystery of what really happened to Kari's mum is keeping me hooked for now.

I knew that this book would make me mad, but I'm so made that I want to invent time travel so I can go back in time and violently castrate King James, changing the future be damned.

To be fair to Robin, scones are amazing, and I would also love to assume scones as the Platonic ideal of bread. Perhaps shortbread can be the Platonic ideal of biscuits? Much to ponder.

I'm already loving this book. All of the characters are wonderful, but I am loving Vera so much <3

I understand that this is beloved fantasy story, but I'm finding it a little flat. I think the magic system, how it operates, is very clear and I enjoy this aspect, but I feel a lot of the writing is telling me how things are and what is happening, rather than showing. I do wonder though if this is just a writing style preference/change - it is nearly 60 years old.

While I'm enjoying the premise, the writing is still giving 'wattpad story written by a 15/16 year old' - it is getting better, but I'm not sold on it
