Spoiler: the woman tells a story with regret about an implied abortion. The author’s storytelling feels calm, deep, and reflective so far.

Okay, I know I said I wasn’t excited for the sequel….. I am devouring this book. Better than the first one so far.

Animalistic. I hate the way time moves in the book. It makes sense that Warlow would not know the date or time, but the other characters only describe time passing in a very indefinite way as well. No one actually likes each other. No one exhibits empathy or human emotions that rise above animalistic or “moral” descriptions. I don’t like the book so far.
