I really want to believe that my body is a f*cking miracle just as it is but I still miss having 6-pack abs and being so skinny I looked like I was two inches taller than I am even though at that point in my life I was walking at least 8 miles a day carrying a 20-pound backpack and eating nothing but hard boiled eggs and steamed spinach and the occasional raw unsalted almond.

It’s like we have the same brain. Maybe I really should write a book. 💖

I don’t know how this book isn’t actively traumatizing me. It is made of triggers. But I just keep reading in fascination and then sleeping the sleep of a very relaxed person.

So many layers of horror. There’s the blatant, gross-out horror of so much gore. There’s the creeping horror of seeing shadows in the periphery and being constantly unsure whether or not you’re being watched, and whether the watcher is a hungry ghost or a flesh-and-blood murderer. That doesn’t even begin to cover it but I’m running out of space.

HOLY FORKING SHIRTBALLS! One chapter in. This is definitely horror. Very well written horror. Multi-faceted horror. I hope the rest of the book is as good as the first chapter.

This book is re-framing my perspective in the best way.
