you're about to see a lot of review updates from me as I put these partial stars to good use (finally)

I'm going to be frank--I'm only reading this out of sick curiosity to see if B.K. is able to make sense/tidy up the mess of a magic system/paranormal world they introduced in Good Spirits... sad to say we are off to a rough start.

eating this up (like I knew I would)

the present/“after” chapters are so much more compelling to me than the “before” chapters… I’ve come to loathe the switch every chapter.

I genuinely believe if the “before” chapters were dropped the story would still be compelling and pacing would be so so much better

If I have to read the phrase “tempest”/“tempest eyes” one more gd time

I’m sorry, he just had this big confession to her how every time he uses his magic it’s killing him and in turn killing her because of their bond, and she tells him he needs to stop using magic frivolously so they DONT DIE!!! AND YET A HOUR LATER HE IS USING HIS MAGIC TO GIVE HER SEXUAL PLEASURE WHILE LAYING 6 FT AWAY?! JUST SO THE AUTHOR CAN USE AN *oh so sexy* PHANTOM TOUCH???
