This book is a huge disappointment. I came in I thinking it was a love story and it’s not 😭 it’s just about four random friends. It’s so boring 😭

I really hate the son - 0/10. And honestly Maggie is a close runner up since she promoted his trash behavior.

Started slow, but I think it’s picking up now. I know we’re only following a day in Maggie and Ira’s lives, but I’m not a fan of them as a couple. I do like how the worst parts of each character are revealed from their own POV - speaks to how our partner reflect back to us our worst selves. Writing style reminds me of Kingsolver.

Almost done. This book isn’t good or bad. It’s just there. I think I may need to read her famous novel to appreciate the text more.

This book feels meh. Every page I read is a reminder of why I have been on a fiction streak. I’m also confused because this book is more of a memoir than a book about her mother.

This book isn’t horrible, but the writing is a huge step down from Handsmaid Tale. I guess it’s hard to keep up with our good sister Margaret.

So far, no one’s touching our racist sis Agatha.

Cute book - lowkey loving it. Too bad she was a racist.

The grandfather chapter was really beautiful. Side note - Trevor is trash. I know they’re kids but him and his father are example 5000 of why dating yt people is not it.

I really like the writing of this book - instantly draws you into the characters world.
