Was just okay lol

2.5 - it’s fine.

Cheesy rom com with lovable indigenous leads (though ember’s lying was out of control lol).
Ending was very rushed but still was a cute palette cleanser anyways.

I have a deep appreciation for this series with how it tackles racism and prejudice, and I love the characters, but I am struggling with the magic system. The King Arthur arc felt silly to me initially and sometimes I was lost on how the magic system even works. Maybe I need to read someone else’s explanation on it before I read the third book lol

Re-read to prepare for Onxy Storm.

Heartbreakingly good (true) story but the writing fell short for me.

There’s so much hype around this book and being 20% in, I am waiting for something to happen. The writing is juvenile but at the same time I am struggling to understand the magic system? I’ve never felt like this with a book lol

Listened to the audiobook version of this but may be better to get physical copy to do the “homework” at the end of the chapters. Overall this book gives you some good skills and basic groundwork for effectively talking to your kids.
