this book is sooo slow paced compared to tipping the velvet, and it has changed the manner in which i read it (i’m less in the mood to read this because i know i have to give it enduring attention and time) . it is not bad yet just different than my expectations, but i am enjoying this and curious as to where it is going

much slower pace than tipping the velvet but also much more serious and complex, enjoying it a whole lot. the social commentary is so well done and the atmosphere is so eery and easy to be pulled into. i’m reading it slowly but that’s because every bite is very flavourful and deserves undivided attention

this book is reminding me of all the reasons i love reading... truly believe this is peak of fiction writing with a linear narrative... something here for so many types of readers it's so cool

this book is getting sooo good it’s a perfect blend between modernist stream of consciousness with the horror genre and good linear storytelling and great characterisation… the type of book that would have made me fall in love with reading if i read it earlier
