Second time around. Still plenty going on at all sorts of levels. It would be an ideal title for a serious book club.

Didn't enjoy that as much as the first time. I'm still no clearer on some of Hannibal's motives and decisions.

Second time around and enjoyed it as much as the first. Infact so much so that I've ordered the DVD. Away to start Claudius the God.

Second read after at least 30 years. Been having a bit of a WW2-fest recently. Mixed thoughts on this book and the way it was organised. I guess I was looking for something closer to individual experiences.

Okay I can recognise the need for the trip, I understand the trip itself was of interest for those involved, but I didn't get any real insight. Could have had more on the design of the raft. Was such a vessel that's course seemed to be directed more by nature than human design really be the means of migration rather than happy accident?

This was an incremental read and thoroughly enjoyed (or reinforced my existing thoughts/prejudices.

Well that was a bit pedestrian, or perhaps I was looking for some thing more lightsome. Blow by blow account of the major events of HMS.

Breakfast at Tiffany's and three other stories. All new to me.
Enjoyed them all.
Characters rather than story.

Still enjoy the language, the story is of secondary consideration.

Well I enjoyed that. Views of the same set of events, a futile mission. What is faith?

A romp through Klimt's life and times to put him and his work in context. Brief summary of his influence since. Eclectic collection of illustrations.

Well okay ploughed through that quickly. A book in itself but obviously starting after major events and finished but left with plot threads to follow.

Well that took me back to childhood at Johnshaven.

Well thoroughly enjoyed that.

First time reading Mary Renault. I had no expectations of the novel. Some of the characters were known historical figures. Somewhat dissatisfied with the read. The reasons actions were taken were not apparent, except on a personal level. It hasn't made me want to explore her other works.
