It's a fast-paced story about the decision of a teenager wanting to take revenge of his brother's death told in verses like poetry. That's different. 👀

This is my 2nd book by T. J. Klune that I'm reading, and I'm noticing that I enjoy his writing style. He really makes you think about life... and death (as far as this book goes).

I own 2 other books by him, but I'm pretty sure he's an automatic author I would read just by the way he writes.

"Run away with me. You like tea. I like books. Care to open a shop and forget the world exists?"

🤔 I'm giving this book 50 pages to woo me.

Sometimes, you just need a book to put you in your feelings. This is that "Life is too short for..." type of book.

Trying a Chapter: I can barely make it through chapter 1 without giggling at this man (Wallace) and crying-a%$ Patricia. 😆

She said to her boss (Wallace): "My daughter pierced her septum... She looks like a bull. My little girl, wanting a matador to chase her down and stick things in her. "

Wallace: "Jesus Christ."

Me: *HOLLARING*

I purchased the first 3 books in this series over time, and I don't even know if I'll like the first book... so, I read chapter 1.

I'm intrigued so far. 😌

I skimmed some reviews about ppl not liking that it's more high-stakes and not really cozy fantasy.

That doesn't bother me. I'm not the biggest cozy book reader anyway. Hopefully, this is decent enough for me to finish.

Poetry is a nice break in between reading long books.

I've been putting this off for a while.

You know, sometimes you just need to read an urban hood book to get you back into reading consistently.

I can ignore the fact that it needs an editor by focusing on the plot and action scenes.

So far, I'm hooked 👌🏾

Let's just say I have thoughts. . .
