I must be an outlier because I'm really not feeling this book or the characters. People talk about how great the ending is, but I'm close to dnf'ing it. 😩

So far I've got...
-daylight vampires
-humans living underground & emerging at night
- and an unhappy, horny FMC who uses her gf for only ONE thing. -_- *yawn*

It's a short book, so I was expecting an instant pull. . .

"Asking, 'What is my purpose?' should not be synonymous with, 'Who am I?' Let purpose ask, 'What is my role in my community?' "

When quotes like that hit, I just have to share it. One of my goals this year is to read at least one non-fiction per month.

I'm not rooting for anyone at this point. 😕

I honestly was about to put this book down if we didn't reach an interesting event by 50 pages.

FINALLY, we're getting an action scene...

I wasn't even 10 pages in, and I was already rolling my eyes. My ratings for Cosby's books are spread across the board, but I really want to like this one. What annoys me is how he talks about women within the book. What does the stripper or the Dom woman you banging within the first few pages have to do with the plot I haven't got to yet???

I'm trying to push past this....but ughhhh, it irks me.

I'm not the biggest Brandon fan. I wasn't in book 1 either. He seemed childish. -_-

That was deep 👀, but I still don't know what the hell is going on here. Simply reading for the vibes.

I'm still unsure of how I feel about this book, but I'm still reading.

Did I give this a fair chance? Probably not.

DNF on page 8. I read chapter 1, and all I could think was, "I need a damn pirate dictionary for dummies."

DREDGERS...

SKIFF...

PYRE...

I'm already hesitant to read it because it's YA, but deep down, I don't think this one is for me. I'm sure someone else would love this, though.

This is probably one of those books that would be better as just a movie.
