Every page I read of this book forces me to also come to terms with my own deep buried feelings about grad school. But isn't that (almost) right? Everything is bearable for 3 years. I only need to last one more year

One of the hardest reads I've been doing as a current graduate student. The writing is great, the amount of relatability is painful. This whole self torture problem is an incredible analogy of the way each day ramps up, little bit little, then suddenly the unbearable pain of it all...

What do I desire?

The idea in the book of seeing what it is that you so badly want and not being able to put the exact DESIRE into words is so interesting.
