There's exactly one instance I'll feel bad for Juniper but only because a lot of us are in that situation. When she finally got paid, the first thing she did was pay off her student loans and go to the dentist. It's what we're all working towards. I'm still not going to approve of her methods.

If someone gets head in this series, someone else is going to die or be attacked. It's just the way. I'm getting the impression Sbrana is a marvel fan with all of this tone shifting. It'll be serious and someone's in danger but then we're all making jokes like we're not in peril. Sometimes it works and sometimes it feels off. I think I'll still put this one above the first one though.

What luck, the second book went on sale as soon as I finished the first one. The vibes are more fitting in this one, less odd cozy and more dread. I'm wondering if doing magic for humans amounts to drug use because it seems like Lore is getting vaguely addicted.
