GOOD GOD WHAT IN THE WORLD THIS BOOK NEVER ENDS! The second half of this book is like a really long rambling string of fairy tales

Idk if this is getting better or worse… it’s just rambling old English.

This book is hard to read… the language is overly complex in a lot of places and not easy to follow. The story is slow and meandering and I’m not sure what exactly is happening… I’m at 40% and I’m finally starting to see some potential but the first 30% of this book was a slog and I don’t see it being popular with a lot of readers.

Oh yes. This book still slaps. I can feel the heartbreak coming. <3

Ayooo I still really like this book! I get the feeling this isn’t the first of a series, I seem to be missing some context, but not enough to be frustrating. But I’m really into the wife swap thing!

I wasn’t sure about this book cuz I wasn’t a huge fan of the Poison Daughter, but so far I really like it! A bond swap!? Like wife swap?! And Sheila is a great writer. So far I am loving this one! Fingers crossed that doesn’t change lol.

This is boring so far. I hope this picks up. The audiobook narrators are 🔥 though. Knowing LJ, I’m sure this will pick up. I hope it’s soon!

I’m 10% in and the story is intriguing… a little confusing. But I’m not really jiving with this writing style. There’s lots of really long sentences with lots of commas. It’s distracting me. And usually I don’t notice stuff like this in books, so this must be a really bad sign. 😅

WOAH less than 20% in and she’s having sexy time with his shadow half!? While his normal half WATCHES!? Hello. 😅 LJ knows how to keep a story interesting. Here I was thinking this would be boring cuz she forgives him and it PMO. 😂😂😂

EEEEK! I read these when they first came out, and now I'm a lucky duck who got new ARC copies! ANNNND I convinced my book club to read them tooooo! I can't wait to dive back into these! <3

This is a howls moving castle retelling. There really is no imagination here. I mean it's good, but so far I'm not wowed.

So this got off to a STRONG start... But now the plot is crawling to a halt with this weird wedding kink thing... And I still have like 500+ pages. Not sure how I feel about this... this book is TOO LONG already.

Well this book has surprised me in the best way. I was pretty sure I wasn’t going to like it! But it’s kinda like an adult cross of the sorcerers stone and nocticadia. I love it so far! I was expecting shallow characters and dark smut, but so far the characters are very developed and the story is great!

I really like this book. The trauma all these characters have is being slowly revealed and the found family trope is really killing it. It’s a great story! The atmospheric tension is keeping me on the edge of my seat!

Woah, wtf? I don’t want to jinx it but this is REALLY good so far. I just forced myself to put it down, it’s after midnight but I was so absorbed I didn’t even realize!

Yuck. He just professed his love in the cringiest way, and at like the worst time. I’m still not sure this isn’t YA…

This book is kinda dumb. It feels very YA. The banter is very cringe... But I'm still curious to see what happens so I don't completely hate it.

EEEEEK I got the ARC! Yay! I've got to power through these other books I'm in the middle of ASAP... I have a feeling this book is going to be a banger, and I wouldn't usually say that about a prequel novella!

Picked this up from the author at the Rewritten festival! she had me at fox shifter FMC. 😍

I feel like the world building isn’t very strong here… Things are happening and there’s no rhyme or reason for it… hopefully things get more clear soon. Also. This FMC seems over the top hateful for odd reasons. I can’t put my finger on it just yet.

Ok so I think I’ve cried twice and I’ll probably cry a couple more times before the end but THAT DOESNT FUCKING CHANGE HOW FUCKING LONG THIS FUCKING BOOK IS.
