Book is a constant "will they, won't they" and I've decided it's an "I know they will and I know I don't want them to." Go back to captivity and training as a weapon at this point, that was at least more interesting than this romance plot

we're in the midst of an authoritarian regime, people are being shot in the streets, species left and right are becoming extinct, we've been locked away in isolation for a year, being proposed as a military weapon as a means of "freedom" and we're trying to fuck one of our captors?? Can we focus on an escape plan?? Can we reflect on our circumstances for a moment please??
