LOVING this one, my favorite Tarantino because of how likeable and breathable it is so it makes sense it’s the one that would best translate to a wandering novel

Great description of a dream in this but otherwise sauceless

A little confused on what this is supposed to be; Lonesome Dove was about classic Western heroes at the end of their lives, and was an exploration of purpose in old age. So why is there another book that takes place 20 years later? Is this an exploration of purpose in even older age?

A character who doesn’t even really count as a character just died and somehow it’s been the most affecting death in this book

Larry gotta give every character a backstory that’s insane. They say Dostoevsky was such a masterful writer that during a dog chase you know how every character feels including the dog, and I think McMurtry is in that same camp
