I started reading Carrie because of this memoir. So far I’m loving this book. I’m hating Carrie though.

A little bit too try hard on the ‘girls can be psychos too’ trope

Why would a male author shame his main female character about her period?! No men has any business on writing about menstruation. And this is only chapter one for gods sake.
I’ll give Stephen King the benefit of the doubt since this was written in the 70’s and he couldn’t known better. Regardless, this better be the last time I read a female character written by a man.
