did i get this from the library instead of finishing the three other books i’m in the middle of? yes
am i gonna ignore said three other books to read this? also yes

everything the synopsis covered is done so i have no idea where this is going

i’m going to finish it, but i’m not enjoying this book.
book 1 was so confusing. i’m someone who needs clear exposition and it felt like there were so many things i missed (who “birch” is, what aubrey’s promise is, etc.)

the art style is beautifully rendered and very intense but that makes it hard for me to tell what’s happening or who is who.

plus the MC is always doing the unexpected

i’m calling it now, Lucy and Jess are allergic to (fresh) water bc they’re secretly mermaids and meant to be in salt water ahdjskfjfkgl

ain’t no way they just invented fortune cookies -_-

had to return to the library. on pause.

if you’re going to include “double bubble toil and trouble” in a book, then it needs to be set on earth imo. that shit originated from shakespeare, a witch in a completely alternate fantasy world shouldn’t be referencing it

genuinely had one of the most graphic descriptions in a fowl book in my memory. very unpleasant.

not loving the sheer amount of Damsel Needs To Be Saved in this compared to the first book, and it feels like the research/plot is a lot more aimless than the first

however i am enjoying watching emily and wendell dance around each other

getting my partner to read this to me >> getting it out of the library

the expressions are soooo distinct and clear despite being so simple
