“Louisa has never met those boys, but they’re her people, the only people she has left on the planet.” Pg17 I understand and relate to the feeling of belonging or a sense of kindred spirits, but the phrasing of “my people” and the like, isn’t a good way to express that. It insinuates everyone outside that demographic are not acceptable

“Too much of childhood is spent being lied to by adults because they think it’ll spare your feelings.” Pg.133 this rings true

“Tight, tight, tight—like if I could force them to stop shaking.” Pg.431 and another example

“I needed to get to him right now, right now, right now—“ Pg.420 and another one

“Turn, turn, turn, the wind whispered.” Pg.413

“…I felt the blade slip, slip, slip.” Pg.410 yet another triple word example

“I grabbed Raihn’s hand—squeezed it hard, hard, hard…” Pg.391 example of the author using this method throughout the entire book; triple saying a word. Kind of annoying
