Half way through. Some notes so far:
- This novel is written in the past habitual tense, mostly with sentences such as "They would go to the park in the beautiful summer mornings", which gives the feeling of a perpetual repeated action.
- The two main characters are so united and uniform in their story that so far absolutely no individual characteristics has been painted on any of them.

I am on the verge of giving up on this

I wish this book was only from Hasan‘s perspective. He is the most interesting part so far

I was going to complain about the fact that the German and English titles have nothing to do with each other until I realised that the translator and publisher of this book is the authors son. He probably knows best

Just finished part one. Very glad for the long introduction that the author made all about himself and his context for writing this book.
This part could have been pretentious and self-serving, but it works and made me wish it was longer.
Very excited to read the rest

Rereading my favourite Kundera book

“I think every child is born with a tiny device implanted in their chest that signals the moment their mother is about to cry."

This line broke me.

Listened to this book once on audiobook, now giving it another try reading the physical book

cannot put it down

Why did they decide to leave the bunker ? Makes no sense ?

This is such a long book to read not as an audiobook :(
