No amount of wine can make this book enjoyable.

It might be a mistake to read a few of these journals in a row, at least it is for me. The thought cycle gets repetitive, with Anais becoming enamoured with a new man, for a longer or shorter period of time, over and over and over.

I'm starting to wonder how many time Anais can 'become a woman', as she's done it once in this books and, I believe, twicw in the next.

The writing is so urgent, it seems that Anais Nin, even with all the introspection and self-analysis, is trying to hide something, maybe from herself.

Interesting idea of 'having' people as learning experiences and leaning on them, in turn, for their strenghts.

Outrageous, scandalous artists are easy to idolize, and that is definitely something I have been guilty of. But so far, this autobiography shows the off-stage Marina to be very human and even old-fashioned, in a way.
