I started reading this book years ago and just stopped. It's a long book filled with deep information that makes me have to think about history. It's not something I can just read quickly. But it's an interesting perspective on Columbus, and I want to read it. Last night I read pgs 149-154.

Really good start! Quick reading, easy to follow. The main character is believable. A bit of humor along with the serious conflict. Very relatable to high school students (and staff)!

A good review of basic Nazarene theology. Easy to understand. I'm finding myself more and more aligning myself exactly with this theology. It seems to mimic the teaching of Christ perfectly.

Started reading this book while on vacation away from cell service and internet. A great refresher of solid foundational doctrinal statements. Easy to read and understand. I love the application questions at the end of the chapters!

As a debate coach, I love studying rhetoric and argumentation. I wish more people did. Over the years, I have felt like my teaching of rhetoric and understanding of it has needed some improvement, and I recently stumbled upon this book. I'm hoping it makes me a better debate coach, a better family man, and overall a better communicator.

I'm becoming quite fascinated with this book. The writing is not always coherent, but Malala is also only a teenager. She writes pretty well considering she's young and she's had to go through a lot of turmoil just to learn how to read. I'm learning so much about Pakistan and some history and politics.

I joined the book club at the HS, and this is the first book they're reading. It looks really good, and I have wanted to do some follow up on this story. We'll see how it goes!

Still dragging. Might have to give this series a break after this book. Unless something happens to keep my interest right away for the next one. We'll see.

Not as exciting as some of the earlier books yet. Maybe I'm too used to the characters and plot scheme that the book has lost its coolness? Something that is unnecessary is all the descriptive detail about the rangers and what they're capable of doing. I've read the previous books, I know all this stuff. Makes the book boring. But it's still a good read and a nice story.

This book is completely changing my viewpoint on diversity, especially in education. Wow! I am getting exited to see his viewpoint on class based affirmative action.

The story has definitely picked up! The writing is still a bit choppy in places but the characters are well grounded and the conflict is tense. Becoming quite a delightful book as expected from Mr Flanagan.

A nice story as always with good humor and realistic characters. The writing itself, though, doesn't seem to be as good with this book as his others. I feel like he leaves out some important descriptive details in the name of producing a quick read. But I like it overall, so far, and will keep reading.

So far this book has been pretty enlightening. A good history lesson of affirmative action in the U.S. and the shifts in public policy regarding race versus class. I look forward to reading Kahlenberg's argument for class-based affirmative action.

Riveting, just like the first one. Collins knows how to bring out the entire range of human emotion in one book! I want to throw the book in the trash and curse the day I ever decided to go ahead and read it. Yet i can't. The power of the story has engulfed me, and I have no choice but to bear through the tragedies that await Katniss and Peeta in another brutal bloodbath.
