It’s wild how quickly Dorian has changed his view of Basil to that of an object rather than a person. The second he angered him, Dorian kills him and made him some sort of ‘other’ in his mind, since his hedonism has led to him living for pleasure and pleasure alone

Chapter 11 is the lamest chapter of the book. That’s all I have to say about that.

Finally the point: Dorian occupies his time with deep dives into finery and the arts to distract himself from the portrait upstairs that is getting uglier and more vile. He is fascinated by how it shifts so he often will visit the portrait, but also so anxious about it he tries to think about anything else at all times. Got it.

I’ll be so for real, o skimmed the pages about gemstones. GOD I am so sorry this isn’t fun

I find chapter like this suuuuuper boring. How long can we wax poetically about hedonism? I want to get to actual STORY again (._.)

It’s interesting how it’s only been a few years but Dorian is already weaponizing his beauty to be seen as innocent and kind to the world despite his actions not reflecting this.

And now Dorian is double evil to me for how he wrote of Basil! BASIL, MY BABY NOOOO
