I had a small installment at a Neo-Luddite art gallery yesterday, and part of it presented some books I was reading. Some guy told me that his high school had it for assigned reading... HUH?!?

Update: somehow my book got renewed in the system, so not as much rush.

Reading alongside Sartre's more philosophical Being and Nothingness makes Nausea (yes I can spell it) seem kind of unflatteringly straightforward, like an gift without wrapping.

This book is fantastic!!!
A mere 2 chapters in and my head feels so different in a good way. Like I-did-a-new-workout-and-feel-weird-but-I-know-that-I-will-be-better. Such an interesting and rewarding (because it takes a bit to read) book so far.

I haven't had much luck in the romantic world, and am sort of shifting focus from that realm, but I want to, like, date the idea of this book. Lonely, self-aware, or both?

Bit too flowery for me at times considering it's a book on philosophy, but some nice insights so far.

I can't tell yet if I love or self-torturously-procure-like-a-good-workout DFW's writing style, and this is two pieces of Consider the Lobster and about 9% through his Infinite Jest (which is kinda a lot btw).
