The depiction of sirens is very cool. I find the blood bond to be interesting and if done well can be a great addition to the love story brewing. I hope it doesn’t become some version of mate or fated bond as those often disappoint me.

I finally started reading physical books at night again. Been trying to avoid social media at night and focus on something I love, reading. Which in turn applies to this book. I adore it.

Oh my god. Blushing, laughing, tearing up. My heart. This world. The magic system. The characters. I'm in awe. Rachel is such an amazing writer and storyteller.

This book is so good. I'm loving the relationship between Thomil and Sciona. ML Wang has become one of my very favorite authors. The way I quickly become fond of the characters, the real world parallels, the uniqueness of the world, the way I feel I emotionally move alongside the fmc and mmc is absolutely amazing. I love everything about this book so far. I cannot wait to see where it goes.

This is one of the most anticipated books for me this year. I cannot wait.

I love Thomas already

Genuinely, it's cute. Which might be funny to some that I think this is very cutesy but let's be real. It is. I wouldn't call this a dark romance. It's.. two people who belong with each other who are discovering fantasy through one another. Pretty vanilla if you ask me. Still, a good read so far.

Okay it's starting to actually get interesting. This second half of the book will really determine whether or not I continue the series. The mentor is 100% the love interest. I don't love it but I might be able to overlook it.

Hmmmmmmm idk how I feel about Max and the main character being into each other. I hope its not going that way but it seems to be. I want him to be a mentor and a supportive friend. I don't like a romantic teacher/student dynamic idk

I'm hoping the main character doesn't continue to be a simple, sweet and honestly shallow character. I like her, but she's boring. She's too kind, innocent even. I can maybe say it's the trauma. I personally want to see a lot more depth to a character. I want her to have more personality. I want her to be more interesting. I honestly don't want characters that are without flaw.

I'm always looking for a good sapphic story. This one has been a lovely period piece with folklore undertones. The characters are believable, it's a nice slow burn. I'm excited to be reading about a relationship that isn't heterosexual.

This story has surprisingly not gone in the predictable direction. I'm very curious to where the story goes bc what happened in the middle felt like an end of sorts? I'm still gathering my thoughts on how much I like the story. I guess it'll really depend on what happens next. I really couldn't guess and that's a little weird for me.

It's cute so far. Definitely not enemies to lovers though. More like.. childhood crush from enemy families, forced separation and lingering obsession. I don't dislike that at all, it's just they were never enemies. Especially emotionally towards each other.

Eeeek yes I love Silas more and more

I'm super intrigued. As someone who is neurodivergent, who's struggled immensely with mental health, feeling crazy and isolated by the way my mind works, I feel very seen by this book.

Kinda read a lot today. I really love this book. I really love vampires. And I really love obsessive, dangerous, fictional men.

I officially have a new favorite vampire. 🩸

I quickly picked up this book because I heard it was "emotionally devastating" and for people who still cry over what happened in Buffy the Vampire Slayer... which sounds like it was written for me specifically.
