i've seen reviews claiming olga's character seemed more of a dry run for elena from the neapolitan quartet but olga reads more like lila if being honest. olga's rage can take the form of striking fists and physical brutality like lila meanwhile elena can only do so much to contain her violence to preserve her self-imposed image of civility and olga departs from that.

chapter 75 made me burst into tears most important chapter of the quartet by far. first time lila and lenu bared themselves to each other with the slightest inhibitions and they're only able to do so because the telephone wires separate them from fully assimilating the material physicality of one another. lilalenu you are inexhaustibly poignant and tragically written
