It's worth noting that I haven't read all of the critical articles included in this text, but I wanted to have them in my library, so I didn't get the shorter JWJ standalone. (I'm not tracking page count thru Goodreads so it rly doesn't matter).

I really should be embarrassed that I’ve started reading something new. I’m currently reading too much nonfiction—which I’m really growing into(!!)—and this just underscores that. This is absolutely beautiful writing. I am in awe. My professor lent this to me and earlier this summer I was getting intimidated by it but no—this is so uniquely rich and engaging. Somewhat reflective of “Mama Day”.

It’s so demanding but so rewarding—this book is awesome !
