I really should be embarrassed that I’ve started reading something new. I’m currently reading too much nonfiction—which I’m really growing into(!!)—and this just underscores that. This is absolutely beautiful writing. I am in awe. My professor lent this to me and earlier this summer I was getting intimidated by it but no—this is so uniquely rich and engaging. Somewhat reflective of “Mama Day”.

It’s so demanding but so rewarding—this book is awesome !

This book is EXTREMELY slow-going--not just because it's conceptually challenging, but also because school has picked up and after finishing my prospectus, I've had to put reading this on the back-burner (if not completely off the stove!) but I want to return very soon to it! The examination of Being is one of the most fascinating things I've come across!

I'm so in love with my experience of this poem (and by this poem I really mean all of the (Commedia, but especially Purgatorio and Paradiso which I've been studying this semester)! More and more I've felt the urge to learn Italian just for this poem (but I'm still trying to work on my Spanish first!!). Anyway, something in this is so loving and hopeful and life-affirming, even in unpacking disagreements with the text
