I chose the book because it looked interesting and was something I haven't heard alot about. I read a little bit of background today. It explained one persons case and what they were going to cover in the book.

The tone of this story is very informal. The style of writing is showing alot of the internal confusion that she is feeling throughout the story.

The character's primary goal at this point is to live a normal life and return to her previous state of life before all these symptoms appeared. The symptoms and her own brain are getting in the way of her achieving these things.

I think the writer of this book is credible because on the back it mentions that she is a reporter for The New York Post. I think this would make her credible because this is something she does every day.

I was drawn to this book because I have a interest in psychology. When it was explained it sounded like it would share some insite or aspects of psychology.

One time that I felt a great sense of unity in my community was the prayer we had at the time of Hanna and Lucy's deaths. Everyone came together to support one another and honor both people and their lives. It was a time when the whole community was there for each other and for their families.

I think the song connects to the theme of the book because you aren't able to control the string or what your life holds for you. The song is showing this and is explaining that you have to go along with what comes at you, and it will all work out the way it's supposed to

I don't think that the short stringers are like other minority groups because they are all still people and were never different before the strings were put on them. The strings are solely just there for their life span, and even tho they are harming or acting crazy due to their string I think they are just scared and should stillbe treated equal.

I don't think I would do what Hank did. Even though my life may not be longer than before, I wouldn't want it to be any shorter or have the chance of decreasing my quality of life. I would like to fully realize the potential of my life and cherish every moment of it, rather than ending it sooner.

I would not open my childs box, I feel like it would be up to them and if they had wanted to open the box or not. I think it is a invasion of privacy to open the box without their permission because it is their box and their life. If for some reason I did open the box I would tell them or let them open it with me so it is more there choice.

Hank opens his box but keeps the length of his string to his self. He does not want others to worry about him and how long he has left. This is diffrent than the other characters because everyone else tells people to help them cope. He is a very independent person and does not want to rely on others. Once his ex girlfriend finds out he has a short string he finally lets himself feel all the feelings hes held in.

I don't think that I beleive in miracles, I think that positive things can happen but I don't think they are miracles. I think that everything happens is for a reason, even if its not quite understandable at the time. I think that things that some people could see as miracles are due to effort, chance or even natural causes. To relate this to the story I don't think that Ben's string will change to be longer.

I personally don't think I would test my string in a crazy way. I think if I had a longer string it would help me have more confidence to go parasailing or something along those lines, but would never jump off a bridge. I wouldn't want to risk the quality of my life just because I will live longer, you could become paralized and the quality of your life would decline.

Maura does not handle to box and string well. She was so eager to open it but after she opened it she regretted it knowing her life was short. She has lost appeite and had a hard time living. Nina has talked her into going to a support group to hopefully help. Amie is almost thrilled about the box it is making life intresting even though she is upset about Maura's short string. Amie still has not opend her box.

So far both nina and ben have opened their boxes. Ben is attending a support group to hopefully make him feel better and more secure. He is just living his life because what else is there to do like he stated in the book. Nina believes that the strings are real, she had told maura that all the thinsg she said previously were not true and that the strings must really mean something.

If I received a box with the amount of time I had left I think I would like to open it and find out how long I have left of my life. If I knew how long I had I would be able to try to do everything I wanted and say one final goodbye to all my family and friends.

Today I read about how Naomi lost her car and was taken to the police station by someone from the coffee shop. While at the police station they came to the conclusion her car was stolen. They headed back to her motel and her room had been destroyed and broken into.

In the story six and daniel just received a email from their kids adopted family. This is connecting all the books in the series together making this very intresting and it is also a very aha moment. All of the people involved are very emotinal.

The main charter six had a child with someone she didnt know. She was studing abroad when she found out she was pregnant and decided that giving him up for adoption was the best choice. She regrets this decsion and constanly wonders who her son is.

Daniel the narrator talkes alot about how he feels in a situation. In his head, alot of this is shown through I. This creates his charter and who he is alot because it lets you see his internal thoughts

Something intresting is Quinn was pregnant and wasnt even aware of it after she had been struggiling with infetility. She had a miscarragie ending in a hysterectomy, which was suprising to me. I thought that she was going to end up having kids with her husband. Now ill have to figure out what will happen now.

Quinn is currecntly struggling to share her feeling on her marraige and infertility problems with her husband as hes doing the same. This is making there conflict even greater. They are not understanding one another very well because they havent even talked about it. This is bring both her and her husbadn down
