this is the first time i’ve gotten lactose intolerance representation in a book 😂😂

SO GOOD 😊

it’s good. i really like all of the vivid imagery and sensory details that jessica goodman includes in this book. i’d be willing to bet she’s been to camp before 😂 anyway so far the plot is maybe 85% being a camp counselor/ lifeguard and friendship drama and 15% mystery. the MC is 18 years old and it feels like it.

i’m only 150 pages in and i’ve nearly cried twice now. like tears pricking at my eyes. that never happens when i read. i have never felt so seen by a character as i have been by harriet york. i have this feeling that maybe the theme of the book is encouraging the people pleasers in the audience to set boundaries and ppl please less.
