I’m trying to read 100 books this year. I have three more to go with this book unfinished… I admit I have pushed through some books. I did not enjoy just to get the book count towards my goal, but I simply cannot continue reading this drivel. It is perhaps one of the worst books I have ever read and I can’t waste anymore brain cells on it. Annual reading goal be damned, this is my first DNF this year.

It has potential but it seems contrived. Hope it gets better.

Cowboys, whores, cattle, soooo long but the author creates endearing characters and writes cinematically. I feel like I am watching a movie as I read.

This book is so long!

You should get credit for reading 2 to 3 books upon completion. :-)

Stepped out of my normal genre. I’m feel like I’m reading the Western version of locker room banter. That said, the alliteration and visualization is magnificent.

I prefer reading books traditionally for at least versus listening to them, but there are some narrators who enhance a book’s telling; this is not the case. I find reading this book on my tablet or in hardcover a little more tolerable but listening to it is like reading hold music
