Harry could possibly get into deep trouble by going to Hogwarts, as he doesn't know anything about the place, and his life could be put in danger consequently. His lack of knowledge is further demonstrated when he keeps asking Hagrid questions such as "What's a muggle?" (52) or "What happened to Voldemort?" (54) Despite his current living state, Harry should avoid such dangerous situations, no matter the prospects.

It wasn't smart of Thomas to disregard Teresa. Despite her betraying him already, he should still try to gather what information when in such a confused state. The text even states: "As for himself-he felt mostly confused" (356). If I was in Thomas's position, I would have listened to what Teresa told me, especially since she already admitted to and explained her betrayal.

I am worried about Thomas's group if they don't even know when to stay quiet. For example, pages 263 to 265 show the process of Group B capturing Thomas with him continuing to talk despite their threats. On page 264, Teresa even had to say "Talk again and we'll start shooting your friends," showing how bad he was at keeping to himself. If Group A keeps this up, they are sure to get punished for it eventually.

I found it disturbing to see that someone in the town had a gun. This is because no one that the Gladers have met has yet to wield such a weapon. Thomas even said himself: "He's the only one I've seen with something worse than a knife." In his situation, a gun could very well be the most powerful weapon that someone could have, and since they still exist and function properly, who knows how many others are out there?

Minho is reckless and impulsive, making him unfit to be a leader. On pages 148 and 149, after Jorge forces him to apologize, Minho immediately takes the Crank off guard and starts attacking him. According to the text, Thomas had to "squeeze against his struggles to escape" (149) in order to defuse the situation. The fact that the group got into so much trouble just due to Minho's impulse shows his incompitence.

Thomas is a better leader than Minho. For example, when the group got attacked by the blobs, Thomas was the one who analyzed the situation and came up with a plan. His leadership was especially displayed when he declared "We need to go. We need to go now." Meanwhile, Minho was busy being in shock by the situation, not thinking about the best plan of action. This proves that Thomas is a better leader than Minho.

Thomas has trouble focusing in tense situations. This is demonstrated when he easily gets distracted while trying to rescue Teresa. The text states on page 16 that "Thomas grabbed it, suddenly angry at himself for wasting even a few seconds thinking about the stupid label." Combined with him constantly getting sidetracked by memories proves how Thomas isn't good at paying attention to the task at hand.

It worries me how Thomas will react to Chuck's death. On page 356, Chuck sacrifices himself for Thomas, which unfortunately ends up in his demise. What's concerning is that Thomas thought of Chuck like family, stating on page 371: "Feels like I lost a brother." Knowing Thomas, he'll probably end up doing something on an impulse, and do something that he'll regret.

I think that the words Newt and Teresa decoded are a code to solving the maze. On page 290, Newt shows Thomas the words that he and Teresa discovered from the Maze's movements, and even tells him that "The Maze has been repeating those words for months". This means the Maze probably just wants them to use the words in that specific order. As for where to input the code, it is probably somewhere in the WICKED lab.

Thomas seems to have a special connection with Teresa, for two reasons. First, she can talk to him in his head, which might be a result of the creators' experiments. Next, Thomas always felt that she looked familiar, and she seems to know who he is because of something that happened outside the Maze. This is probably because her memory wasn't fully erased, or because it wasn't meant to be.

I felt it was very frustrating when Thomas kept his connection with the girl a secret. On page 150, he avoids telling Newt about the feeling he had. Newt even told him "if something even seems familiar, you better start talking. Promise me," which makes it even more irritating that Thomas didn't speak up about his connection with the girl, and that he never talks about anything that the Gladers would find useful.

A puzzling part of the Maze Runner is Thomas's urge to become a Runner. My confusion stems from page 101, when the text states that "The desire to become a Runner was the only thing driving him on". On top of this, his talk with Newt on page 100 ends in him stating: "I want to be a Runner", only further bewildering me. These two moments both show reasons for my confusion over Thomas's yearning to become a Runner.

A part of the story that both Thomas and I found surprising was the existence of a vast maze outside of the walls. We first learn of this Maze when Thomas's "tour guide", Chuck, states: "Same thing happens out in the Maze-those walls shift every night too". The narrator's description of the wall "crunching" and "grinding shut", and Thomas's reaction to the development shows how surprising the Maze's reveal was.

One part of the story that I found unfortunate was on page 1 when Gary, the main character of The Jacket, received a jacket that he despised. It was apparent that he hated the jacket when he stated "I wanted to cry" on page 2 because of how ugly the jacket was. In addition, in his unappealing description of the jacket, he stated that it was "the color of day old guacamole", proving that he did not like his jacket.
