Matilda (^з^)-☆ is on page 51 of 472 of The Three-Body Problem (Remembrance of Earth’s Past, #1)
First off, I love it already. I am however reading it because my Chinese History teacher described it as 'absolute cinema' (verbatim). I hope this doesn't make me a teacher's pet.

Modern Chinese history is so captivating; Mao doesn't seem so bad when you consider everything that is being described in this book. Also Mao did swim that fast, baidu it.

"Dear God, this is love. This is desire. And all my past amours have been but the shadow of this." Lestat about Armand.

"He seemed distant for a moment. indescribably beautiful in the firelight, the dark auburn strands of his hair barely touching his smooth forehead, his lips parted in a beatific smile.
'If we cannot have the old ways, can't we have each other?' " Armand about Lestat.

'Beautiful, that's what any human being is to us, if we stop to consider it, even the old and the diseased. the downtrodden that one doesn't really "see" in the street. They are all like that, Like flowers ever in the process of opening, butterflies ever unfolding out of the cocoon.'
