First off, I love it already. I am however reading it because my Chinese History teacher described it as 'absolute cinema' (verbatim). I hope this doesn't make me a teacher's pet.
Modern Chinese history is so captivating; Mao doesn't seem so bad when you consider everything that is being described in this book. Also Mao did swim that fast, baidu it.

oh ive been meaning to read this one ever since the netflix show came out! which i never watched of course... it only makes you a teacher's pet if you ask them for treats after i think
