Really interesting book, left me feeling mostly just empty... which is kinda the point. It's a hard book to rate, I think it'll stick with me.

The first part of this book just made me laugh because it was so stupid but it actually started getting really fun? There's a great scene where there's a guy talking to his crush and her dad is behind the wall and he's trying to let her know so she doesn't say anything dumb but he doesn't know how to do it without making the dad mad at him. Absolutely stellar writing.

Interested to see what I think of this by the end. I like the writing style, but I keep seeing reviews online about how it's a lot of unproven science marketed as fact and broad statements that don't get proven in the text. So far it's good?

Really fun book. Made me laugh and made me think about writing. The preface and outro are great (in my copy by Umberto Eco and Italo Calvino respectively, two incredible writers). I'd love to read more from Queneau. I finished this book just down the road from where the story takes place too.
