oh she’s crazy :)

spent the last 2 weeks rereading the first five books. IT IS TIME

Struggling to suspend disbelief about the fact that killing a sun god meant the sun no longer rose and the world is plunged into eternal darkness. The other gods are trying to “raise the sun” again. That only makes sense if we ignore everything we know about science and space.

this author doesn’t use nearly enough commas

this book has taught me that i don’t like the angst of “i have a secret that will blow up our relationship, and i don’t have the guts to share it”

ok, i’m not convinced the author has ever tried to learn another language as an adult, but i’ll suspend my disbelief for how fast the FMC is learning grammar and sentence structure in a brand new language lol

trying to allow myself to DNF more this year. Nothing at all wrong with this book, just realized that i feel too much anxiety reading it. maybe i can pick it up later.

sexy and heartbreaking and beautiful. can already tell this is gonna hurt at the end.

this cover is ROUGH, but the premise and reviews are promising 👀

it’s lookin like one of the MMC love interests is a man who helped raise the FMC since she was 11. reeeeeeally hoping they don’t focus on that so i can headcanon it differently

unlike others in the series: 1) spice starts early (a variant of the fuck or die trope, as opposed to slow burn), and 2) there doesn’t seem to be a single point of conflict that we’re building towards. i don’t mind #2, but i can see why a couple reviews would call it more boring.

this one is not holding my attention nearly as well as the first two :(
