I don’t know of the conversations and dynamics between characters match this time period or the roles of these characters. I understand this is between a slave and Greek royalty but it feels a little too current and a little too casual. I also feel like it could be any other story, it’s not really grounded in the Greek mythology or the greater story of war and patriarchy.

Also loved the part about the grandmothers thoughts of the memoir

Listening to this book changed my entire experience. This part specifically was special with her narrating it.

The desk and the suits being left behind is sticking with me.

I’m loving this retelling of her matriarchs story and her analyzing her own.
