RIP to my reading goal… I was on-track to not only meet it but to FAR surpass it but then I got hyperfixated on something else and haven’t really picked up a book in 2ish weeks 😭💔

Ik she’s not canonically trans in this book but that is a still transphobic argument, literally the same rhetoric and phrasing that every trans person ever has heard

I love this series but there are a couple things I’ve noticed that didn’t quite age super well

You know how Spotify has the option to select “don’t play this artist” on an artist’s profile so even if you’re listening to a playlist someone made that includes them, it’ll skip over their songs?
I wish GR had an option of “don’t show me this author” so you don’t get flooded with recommendations for them even if you’re looking at lists or other books like theirs

Got called “that thing” at the library today bc someone couldn’t tell my gender lmao really that’s what you went with???
She started to say “him” to my coworker then panicked and went “uh um that th-thing” instead bc yes that’s SOOOOOO much better (I am in fact wearing a he/him pronoun pin too) 💀 I’m not offended but c’mon now lmfao

This is well-written but I’m so bored 😭

Whenever I review a book, I try to focus solely on the content and not rip into the authors because I know some authors do read their reviews and I don’t mean to be insulting. Even if I HATED your book, I still recognize how impressive it is to finish one and be vulnerable enough to put it out there. You should be proud of your hard work and remember that you can’t please everyone.

Imagine having to explain to paramedics or something that you crashed (or god forbid KILLED SOMEONE) because you couldn’t wait the 20 minutes or less until you got home so you put literally everyone on the road in danger

I should not be enjoying this but I love them both so much

It would be really easy to be pissed at Indi or think she’s stupid for staying in her abusive relationship but as someone who has been trapped in a relationship just like it with a man far worse, I know how hard it is to leave no matter how many times you tell yourself you know he’s toxic, you deserve better, or that you’re done. I feel so bad for her.
