My problem with Fourth Wing is probably due to its timeline… It’s been almost 100 pages, and we’re still on the SECOND DAY!
Like, I get it, so much happens in a span of a week, but it doesn’t help with the flow of the book. For dozens of pages there’s passed a day, and in two pages we’ve suddenly skipped months. It’s weird, and easily fixed.

I think she tries to introduce too much in too little time, and not well enough.
I don’t think her exposition methods are well done

One thing I’m going to say:
differently from Shatter Me, the crossed out text in Divine Rivals is well used, in letters written in typewriters, where you can’t delete like in computers, and if something you’ve regretted saying you’d naturally cross it out. I HATED its overuse in Shatter Me.

Let me just say… At first I thought a bit coincidental that Kenji and Nazeera were there the exact same day that Ella and Aaron were out of their “prisons”. But then I remembered, they were out because of the arrival of Anderson, and that links to the arrival of Kenji and Nazeera as well, so not coincidental.
And also, Nazeera being jealous of Ella is great stuff. And yeah, Emmaline’s mind control shit also.

Okay, Emmaline has some level of psychic abilities? Crazy, but useful. Hoping to get something about Emmaline, finally. We’ve been talking about her for a while now, and we need to see how she is doing.

Okay, so. Warner has an advantage he doesn’t know: his abilities aren’t known. He doesn’t have the manacles, the things that are in the wrists of Ella and Kenji, so it means that his abilities are unknown by the Reestablishment, so he can use that to his advantage. He can feel the emotions and use other people’s abilities. Sure, it would help if he had Ella’s ability, but then they’d certainly know.

I FUCKING KNEW IT! Nazeera is on the good side. Her methods are only unorthodox and she could've said something to them, instead of looking like she betrayed them.

THANK GODS! SHE REMEMBERS!! But why? What went wrong – or right – so that her memories are being restored, and not erased? Does Evie know this? Is this part of her plan? Or something really went wrong? I can only hope that Ella can go through this, and find Warner and GET THE HELL OUT OF THERE!
